Position Overview
Bring us your vision, your tools, your passion! We are seeking a world class product management professional to build out January AI’s product team. The ideal candidate will have extensive consumer health experience; a history of shipping successful products; the analytical abilities to evaluate market opportunities and their potential financial returns; strong technical aptitude; and superior leadership skills. As the VP of product, you will be a key decision maker and leader in guiding the direction of the company from day one.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Lead, mentor and manage a team of product managers, including recruiting, hiring, and training product managers
- Build incredible teams and processes to deliver products that satisfy the needs of customers
- Lead, define, represent and communicate product strategy to all stakeholders, partnering with CEO & CTO
- Own UX design efforts supporting product iterations (may be external and/or internal)
- Product lifecycle management from concept to launch of the product(s) across all products/product lines
- Identify key trends affecting precision health and consumer health in the next 3, 5, and 10 years
- Own the product roadmap and communicate with C-level staff and other stakeholders.
- Assess product development sprints and enhancement opportunities, as well as monitor product development sprints and evaluate results
- Develop budgets, forecasts, and metrics.
- Define pricing and competitive positioning for each product
- Drive innovative ideas, solutions and products through leadership and decisive action
- Understand the evolving product mix in the marketplace and identify potential strategic partnerships for complementary product offerings
Qualifications:
- 10 years experience in product management in the healthcare space, preferably working with mobile consumer products at high growth startups
- 5 years experience leading and mentoring product managers
- BS in Biology, Computer Science, or related technical discipline; MBA helpful
- Demonstrated track record of success building, shipping, and iterating on high value teams and products within an agile software development environment
- Ability to understand complex business problems and craft effective strategies to tackle them
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
- Extremely well organized with the ability to balance multiple concurrent priorities in a fast-paced and dynamic startup environment
- Nice to have: familiarity with ML/AI technologies

Position Overview:
January is looking for an energetic, self-motivated and savvy Head of Content to join as our first content marketing hire. Part strategist, part hands-on content creator, this team-member will have a key role in envisioning, leading and implementing content marketing campaigns to build an engaged social media following, and ultimately, recruit participants across channels into our health programs. Roles and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for producing content and copy for all media channels, including comms in the January app, website, social media, blog, press releases, email campaigns, etc.
- Curate, contextualize, and repurpose relevant content from a variety of media sources – both mainstream (i.e. NYT) and niche (i.e. Instagram, science journals) – to diversify our content offering and make the science more accessible to our customers
- Continually develop new ideas, strategies/campaigns to inform, educate, entertain, and engage
- Bring rigor and a science-based approach that has empathy for people facing chronic conditions. This should take into account factors such as: food, activity, sleep, mindfulness, etc.
- Develop a customer-facing voice for the company that is rooted in evidence and accessibility and delight
- Work with the team’s illustrator and designer to create engaging, fresh content
- Manage content/creative contractors as needed
- Demonstrate ROI of campaigns and initiatives to show how they are impacting the key metrics
Base Qualifications:
- Strong understanding and in-depth knowledge of all major social platforms: Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, etc.

We are looking for someone to help us deliver the initial version of our mobile application. The work includes extensive use of the React Native language to build out a complex user interface for support of both Android and iOS mobile devices. Position overview:
We are looking for a microbiologist to be part of the research and development team that brings expertise in high-throughput assay development and scaling technologies. These techniques will guide the next generation products of nutraceutical supplements in the January pipeline. This candidate will characterize bacterial phenotypes, identify novel macro and micro molecules that best speak towards the metabolisms of the microbiome, and build out a library of microbial derived metabolites that modulate gut and human metabolic health. Roles and Responsibilities:
- Develop high-throughput microbiological phenotypic screening assays
- Develop next generation carbohydrate, protein, and lipid utilization assays
- Develop quantitative microbial-derived metabolite profiles and libraries
- Collect, assess, manage and document biospecimens
- Ensure lab cleanliness, maintenance and equipment calibration are performed according to schedule
- Maintain a safe and clean lab environment
Qualifications:
- PhD/MS degree in Microbiology, or a related discipline
- 1+ years of working experience in microbiology with assay development
- Deep experience in anaerobic culturing, growth assays, plating, and media formulation
- Analytical experience with microbiome datasets (Carbohydrate metabolism, Fermentation, Ecology)
- Familiarity with metagenomic functional datasets
- Great organizational, verbal and written communication, and interpersonal skills
